Good News For Today 05 Movie Ticket (2:32 min).
Hello, I’m David Hibbert, and I’ve got some good news for you! A child once asked someone to explain how they could be sure that they would go to heaven when they die. The adult took a movie ticket stub out of their pocket, that they got the last time they went to see a movie. They shared that there are lots of places that require tickets – plays, airplanes, amusement parks. The reason that we have to buy a ticket is because movies, amusement parks, plays, and airplane flights all cost money. But rather than having us pay when we try to get in, we can buy a ticket, that gives us the right to enter, when the time comes. What happens if we don’t pay for a ticket? – We can’t get in. One day, each one of us is going to be given a chance to get into Heaven. We’ll have a chance to walk around heaven, see all of the great heroes of the Bible, and best of all – to see Jesus. But we can’t just walk into Heaven. Why not? Because we have all sinned. The Bible says in Romans 3:23-24, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. What does that mean. It means there is a steep price to get into heaven. Because we are sinners, we don’t deserve to go to a perfect place like heaven. But Jesus, who was without sin, died in our place. He paid the price for our sin, and in doing so, he bought our ticket to Heaven! But there’s one thing that we need to do – we have to accept the ticket. If our parent offers us a movie ticket, we have to take it in order to see the movie. Jesus has offered us a ticket – the gift of salvation, but in order to get into Heaven, we have to accept that gift, by giving our life to Him. And that’s your Good News For Today!
