Good News For Today 16 Author Unknown – Faith Over Niagara Falls (2:08 min).
Hello, I’m David Hibbert, and I’ve got some good news for you!
Here’s how one man explained the gospel – the good news of Jesus Christ. The great tight-rope walker named Blondin strung a wire from one side of Niagara Falls to the other. A crowd gathered to watch him attempt to walk out over the deadly falls on the thin wire. The silent tension turned to cheers as they watched him walk out, turn and come back. He asked the crowd, “How many believe that I can walk to the other side and back while pushing a wheelbarrow?” The crowd shouted, “We believe, we believe!” And, Blondin did in fact, walk out and back with a wheelbarrow. Upon his return, Blondin asked, “Who believes I can push a man in this wheelbarrow while walking out and back on the wire?” Again the crowd responded with “We believe, we believe!” “OK,” he asked, “Who would like to get in?” … The crowd fell silent. Trusting Christ for salvation is not simply agreeing with the facts of the gospel message, that Jesus died for your sins so that you could be reconciled to God and experience eternal life. You must make the decision to actually get into the wheelbarrow. You must make the choice to embrace His payment for your sins, and choose to live for Him. And then, and only then, will you experience the salvation that Jesus died to give you. And that’s your Good News For Today!
