Good News For Today 17 Author Unknown – How Death Shows Love (2:59 min).

Hello, I’m David Hibbert, and I’ve got some good news for you!

Here’s how one man explained the gospel – the good news of Jesus Christ. Maybe you’re heard that Jesus died for your sins. Do you know why Jesus had to die? What was the point of his death? Most people say that Jesus died to show us how much he loved us. Have you ever heard that? And do you know what that means? How does his death show His love? Do you have someone you truly love? A girlfriend, a boyfriend, or perhaps a mother or father? Do you truly love them? Let’s say you want to show them the full extent of your love, so you go to visit them this weekend and you tell them, “I love you, and I want to show you how much I love you”, so you take out a gun, and shoot yourself. Killing yourself doesn’t prove love – in fact, it could prove insanity. Now, what if the person you love was about to get hit by a car, so you purposely jump in the way, and push them to safety, but in doing so, you get hit by the car yourself and die. Again, you ended up dead, but this time you did indeed show them how much you loved them. Why? … Because in order for your death to show love, and not insanity, your loved one must have been in some sort of grave danger. Death only shows love, when the one we love is in grave danger. So if death only shows love when the one we love is in grave danger, and Jesus’s death showed He loved us, then whether you realize it or not, your life must be in great danger. And what are you in danger of? Of one day dying in your sins, being judged for your sins, and experiencing an eternity of separation from God. But the truth is, Jesus died for you because He does love you, and He wants to save you from your sins, from God’s judgement on your sins, and eternal separation from God. So please accept His love and His sacrifice for your sins, so that you can spend eternity with God. And that’s your Good News For Today!
