Hello, I’m David Hibbert, and I’ve got some good news for you!
Here’s how evangelist Sean McDowell explained the gospel – the good news of Jesus Christ.
We have been made in the image of a God who loves us so much, and this God yearns to be in relationship with us.
But the problem, like in any relationship, is that sin, which is simply the wrong things that we have done, separate us from people like my wife, and like my friends.
But that sin also separates us permanently from a Holy and righteous God.
What can we do about it? We can’t earn forgiveness by our own merits, by our own effort. The only way we can be back in relationship with God, and know the only true God, is to accept the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross for us.
If we admit that we are a sinner and that we have fallen short of God’s standards, and we accept Jesus’ payment that He made on the cross for us, we can be forgiven of our sins, enter into a relationship with Jesus Christ, and begin to experience eternal life, even today.
