Discovering God’s Love – Pt 2 – A Dancing God: Why? – David McCann.
Did you know that the Bible describes God’s joy over us as a wild, abandoned, dancing joy. This a wonderful piece of the message of the Minor Prophet, Zephaniah.
But the real question we hope to answer is this: “Why in Heaven would God actually dance because of me?” He sees everything. He knows my best and worst days. Come and find out why God dances over you. (Hint: ישׁועה, σώζω).
Zephaniah 3:17 – The Lord YOUR God is WITH you … who SAVES … great DELIGHT in you … in His LOVE .. He will no longer REBUKE you … will REJOICE over you with SINGING.
Hebrew – Yasha – deliverance, salvation, rescue, safety, welfare, wholeness.
Greek – Sozo – Save, make whole, heal, deliver, be whole.
Saved! Healed! Delivered
Guilt says “I did something wrong”. Shame says “I am something wrong”.
God removes all shame (shame is related to self-image).
So we are delivered form the penalty of sin, the power of sin, the presence of sin, and the pleasure of sin.
