Matthew 28:19 says, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
People from many different backgrounds ask many questions about baptism, such as: “Why do we insist on getting people all wet when we baptize?” “If baptism is not necessary for salvation and is a symbol of faith, why won’t a little water.do?” “I was baptized when I was a baby, so do it again?”
There is so much confusion, even today, about Water Baptism, and there has been a lot of debate over this issue that sadly has divided the body of Christ for years.
Now, please understand that God does not refuse people because they have not followed the correct mode of Water Baptism. God’s Father heart and grace are so much bigger than that!
However, understanding the correct method of Water Baptism is important, because it is much more than a symbolic act, and to receive the full benefits of Water Baptism, we must be willing, in obedience, to do it God’s way.
